Fifteen years of commercial experience — competitive programming first, then running a web development company that delivered more than 150 projects. For the last four years I have been back in hands-on product engineering, owning backend architecture, infrastructure and delivery on early- and growth-stage products.

Most of that time I have worked directly with founders, owners and C-level stakeholders: translating business goals into architecture, defending trade-offs, hiring and onboarding the people who build it, and carrying the responsibility for what ships. More often than not I have been the sole or lead engineer on products serving real users and real money — that is the level of ownership I am looking for next — as a senior engineer or as the technical lead of an early-stage start-up.
